Last week I saw “Law Abiding Citizen”. A movie about revenge and the corruption of the American Justice System. It would have been a mediocre ‘B’ film, accept for the lead actor: Gerard Butler. You might have been seeing this movie in the theater, turned to the person next to you and said, “Hey! That’s Leonidas from 300!”. If you said that, you were right. It’s the same guy that screams “THIS! IS! SPARTA!”. Everyone recognizes him from that scene, since it’s both epic and hilarious.

Before 300, Gerard Butler was in countless movies that not many people saw. Kind of the “backup” movie if you are going to see some huge box office hit, and the tickets sell out. Movies like Lara Croft: Cradle of Life and Beowulf. Movies you see half of on Fox when they run out of crappy shows to re-run. After the Success of 300, we have been seeing him in some of the Top Box office movies. Like The Ugly Truth, and P.S, I Love You.

Even if it’s kind of a crappy movie, Gerard will come in to save the day. He’s kind of like Duke Nukem, or Bruce Willis. Everyone sees movies just because he’s in them. Even though that doesn’t apply with Duke, he’s still the epitome of fucking badass. Not even love stories will keep this guy down, since the crazy hardass actors all have a soft side. I.E Kindergarten Cop. Take the movie Gamer for instance. The storyline was kind of interesting, but the overall movie sucked. I mean, people playing as prisoner’s in a reality video game? That would never get past the government, no matter how low on funds we are as a country.

I wanted to review the movie Law Abiding Citizen, and tell you guys to go see it, but I felt that the story and cinematography alone weren’t the only reason I loved the movie. So I figured I should express my love for this actor in showing you guys all the other awesome movies he’s been in. Everything about this movie is badass, the fact that he can still kill people while he’s in jail, and how he stabs a prisoner he’s eating a steak dinner with just because he felt like it. (There is a reason, but go see the movie to find out.) His motives are obviously to fuck with the system that fucked with him in first place, right?
