Omglole.com did not start off as the Wordpress News/Link/Video site that it is today. Way back in the day of 2006 this site started off as Ryans-stuff.com. It was a horribly mediocre site with no dates on anything (I know I just checked. See what it looked like before it transformed into Omglole.com:

As you can see it was a minimalist website with little information about anything. But it was the start of something great. I can’t exactly remember where I got the name or how it came about. One of our most frequently asked questions is what the “E” in omglole.com stands for. If you ask me, or anyone they will most likely say they don’t know. Because nobody knows. It makes the site name more catchy and fun to say. Try saying “Omglol.com” and compare it to saying “Omglole.com”. A lot more fun, right? We thought so. After we came up with the idea for a domain I started designing it. Me being a lazy web designer and all, I just took the HTML from the original site and changed everything to red and basically left all the unnecessary code and errors in there. The entire site felt like a Frankenstein creation when I updated it. Ultimately leading to it’s demise as a successful website. I stopped updating it, people stopped going to it. That is when I took it down. Leaving a “We’ll be back sign” Hanging on the splash page for a few months. I started to make a new website from scratch. I had picked up a lot of CSS lately and I was willing to try it out. I had a successful design going. Then everything died (my harddrive) and I lost it all. I thought to myself while installing Dreamweaver again: “Fuck that” I refused to do the exact same thing. I did some research on content management systems such as Joomla and PHP Nuke. I didn’t like any of it. So I tried out Wordpress. I fell in love, installed it immediately. And that is where we are now.
